Farmer's Market!

This morning we enjoyed going as a family to the Farmer's Market! We decided to splurge and eat breakfast there too. It was so much fun to be able to partake in the festivities instead of just walking around (what we normally do).

It was really sunny but not too hot quite yet, at least not at 9:30am!

Kyle tried a crepe filled with nutella and blackberries. Yum!

Abigail and I shared farm-fresh bacon and eggs. They were AMAZING!!! Both had SO much flavor! It goes to show that free-range eggs and bacon are so much more yummy and better for you than those sad, pale, eggs from the store! :-)

Abigail enjoying a succulent fresh peach! Mmmm...

Kyle picked out some fresh corn for us...

...and Abigail chowed down on freshly popped kettle corn!

What a super fun Saturday morning!

Fun At The Park

This morning we enjoyed cooler temperatures and decided to take a trip to the park before our 100+ weather forecasted for the next four days!

Abigail just loves to swing!

She is becoming quite the pro at climbing steps too! Living in our new apt complex has been giving her plenty of practice! Haha

The slides are definitely her favorite thing to do! (Besides watching all the other children play.)

Today she set out to learn this fun thing! She did quite well too!

She got a little caught midway ...

...but most of the time she was able to go all the way up!

After the park, we went back to campus and met Daddy for a picnic lunch on the lawn. Abigail enjoyed watching a group of kids running through a giant sprinkler. She tried to talk to them (from a long distance), showing them her pink ball. :-) She even got sprayed by the sprinkler too and came running back, wiping her face, trying to tell us about her experience. Haha...

Kaitlin enjoyed a leisure nap in the cool shade under a tree. She was probably dreaming of being out in the field, running around with her big Sissy though! :-)

A Day In Our Lives...

Being a mommy of two does not seem to afford much time for blogging these days, however, I've decided that if I can just post pictures and short blog posts from my phone, then at least I can try to keep everyone current on our family.
Oh, and for those of you awaiting our birth story, it's still coming! It's just half written on my computer. Haha... As soon as I have time to complete it, I'll post it up! :-)
Our days are mainly spent doing early walks outside in the morning, before it gets super hot, snacks (and lots of them!! Abigail seems to have a hole in her leg. Must be a growth spurt!), sometimes playing with little neighbor friends, swimming at the pool in the evening with Daddy, mealtimes, etc... Each day is different but each day stays busy. There are lots of moments spent in-between those big things doing training, correction, and shaping of a little girl's heart and attitudes! (And this Mommy's heart and attitudes!) It's amazing how an entire day can seem to be nothing but "correcting and instructing"!! We are so thankful though for Abigail's sweet spirit and zeal for life. This kiddo has SO much personality wrapped up in her little body. She just overflows in smiles and sweet kisses for her "Sis"!
Yesterday, I was playing with her in her room and decided to put Kaitlin in a little wooden doll crib that was mine from childhood and that my parents just brought up from Texas for the girls to play with. She just barely fits now but was so cute and Abigail just loved it! Here are a few cute pictures of the girls "playing together":

Sweet baby Kaitlin! She seemed to enjoy the doll crib!

Abigail giving Sissy her paci.

She took it!

Rocking Sissy

Kaitlin enjoying all of the attention.

Abigail sitting in the crib asking to hold Kaitlin. I just love how she holds her arms out like this when she wants to hold her! So precious!

Sweet big sister!

"Cheese"

So much sister-love in this picture!!! Best friends already!

Some people think the girls look a lot alike, but I think they look so different! Haha... Maybe it's just the Momma in me seeing their own uniqueness.

Abigail wanted a turn to lay down in the crib...

Just a tad too big!

I just love these days!!
